Hello Dan,

I'm glad to see you back in the saddle again. Actually, my "rhetorical excess" is well under control. I'm glad that I was out of the country and away from internet access when Jacksons findings of "fact" were released, or my rhetoric would have been excessive to the point of probably being terminated from SI. :-)

You're right, I detest antitrust laws on principle and would love to see them repealed. I don't want to get into the Alice in Wonderland thing again, but this MSFT court case qualifies as a true Mad Hatters Tea Party. As far as Gates statement that "Microsoft must be free to innovate" is concerned, it would be a better line of defense to state that "Microsoft (and all business and individuals) must be free, period".

BTW, I do hope that eventually you'll recover from the "hobgoblin of small minds" syndrome. There's hope for you yet! <VBG>

Do you really want to see .com change to .gov down the road? That's the direction we're headed for if we don't put a stop to governmental intrusions into the market. I don't have a thing for MSFT or Bill Gates, per se, it's the big picture of what this farce all stands for and the road ahead that concerns me.

Regards, JB

PS: I'm not a wild eyed anarchist. A system of just laws (emphasis on just) is needed in any civilized society.
