Yep, gotta keep an eye on these companies. I am not sure if it was Chambers of Cisco, or another CEO of a major networking firm, who recently stated that a major change in the competitive landscape is the number of new optical networking firms that are really sucking up a lot of VC money, and with which are changing pricing in certain areas. I hope I have that right, but chances are I mangled it.. <g>

Here is another company that received some money recently..

>>Tenor has identified a
substantial market opportunity that directly leverages the advances found in the optical core
established by technologies such as DWDM and advanced optical networking. By focusing on
optical services, Tenor will enable service providers to put optical capacity to work in new and
exciting ways that will result in increased revenue streams, greater customer retention and highly
differentiated service offerings. Its innovative solutions are fully complementary with the industry's
existing and emerging optical products, and we see broad commercial applicability for Tenor's
solutions across long-haul and metropolitan networks.<<
