The amount of wood used to support the concrete walls/forms until the concrete sets appears to be not much less than that needed to build a wood-frame house. The biggest problem with steel-frame construction is the prohibitive engineering fees (required by Building Departments when confronted with "unproven" methods).

One way to avoid the fees is to built wood-frame load bearing walls and use steel-frame for the interior walls. Steel frame studs actually cost less than wood.
