***Why does the FBI stop Globalstar?***Vman, maybe the FBI better not be too clumsy in how they handle Globalstar. If they don't do their job right or illegally hassle people going about their constitutional business of producing a phone system and talking on it, I'd think the Supreme Court might take a dim view of a fishing expedition by the FBI, which is stopping Globalstar shareholders and employees and their customers enjoying their constitutional rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. A person who would have bought a phone but was not allowed to because the FBI stopped them and they subsequently died through lack of a rescue would have a good case for a $billion compensation to their estate. The war on drugs has got thousands and thousands more people who have been burgled and killed [by criminals and police] than have been saved from overdoses, infections and other death and damage through the war. Left to their own decisions, I think drug use would rise, then drop. When it was perfectly legal to use drugs, people were not all flopped around in a stupor. Some were. The death and crime rates were really low too. Drugs being illegal causes crime and death. It doesn't stop it. It even makes drug use popular by making it kind of daring and showing independence and being cool. Now this war has got some more casualties. Globalstar shareholders in general and me in particular. The FBI needs to get a real job or stick to catching violent criminals and thieves. Globalstar phones aren't going to be much use to violent criminals or thieves. Out in Death Valley, the violent criminal will phone his violent buddy and say what? "Hey, I've just robbed a cactus? Shot it right in the stump". Anyway, criminals can't afford a Globalstar phone or Globalstar minutes. Sure, they can steal a phone, but they can't connect it to anything. Then again, Globalstar could connect it then direct the FBI to the GPS location where the call is coming from. Even criminals would figure that one out after a while. Tell the FBI to get a real job! Maybe Globalstar shareholders should take a class action suit against the FBI for unreasonable and unconstitutional actions in obstructing life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by stopping Globalstar calls. Mqurice PS: I heard that Brazil is now selling handsets. Anyone can read the Web site or living there who can confirm? A visit to a downtown Brazilian shop should soon get the answer. Or just a phone call.
