K & Thread: Hope everyone playing MMCN took their 40 percent last week and moved on. No info on reasons yet. This is a good example of the risks involved in playing issues like this or HIFN, PVSW, MAT etc. Best to take the profits when they are presented, unless the position is clearly intended for the long haul. MMC Networks sees possible slight Q4 loss

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov 15 (Reuters) - Network processor maker MMC Networks
(NasdaqNM:MMCN - news) said Monday that it expects to report revenues of $11 million
to $13 million in the fourth quarter of this year and a possible slight loss per share.

The company said its results for the quarter will be significantly below current expectations
because of lower sales to Cisco Systems (NasdaqNM:CSCO - news), the company's
largest customer.

The analysts' consensus for MMC Networks' fourth quarter earnings was a profit of $0.10 a share, according to research firm
First Call/Thomson Financial.

``Based on a recent forecast from and discussions with, Cisco, the company now expects fourth quarter sales to Cisco to be
less than half the amount sold in the company's third quarter ended Sept. 30, 1999.,' MMC Networks said.

``While we are clearly disappointed with our expected fourth quarter results, our relationship with Cisco continues to be
strong,' said Doug Spreng, president and chief executive officer.

MMC Networks shares closed down 1-1/8 at 22 on Monday.
