Alta Vista to expand free Net access to Canada

Washington, DC, Nov. 15, 1999 (CBS Marketwatch via COMTEX) --

AltaVista Co. said next month it will offer free dial-up Internet
service in Canada, covering 85 percent of the country with local access
numbers. The dial-up network of a subsidiary of PSINet Inc. (PSIX) will
be used. In the United States, the company Monday said it has
registered 800,000 users and is now the seventh-largest ISP in the
nation.
