Rosie...
RE:"Hi, Richard, Yes, I saw that article, a/w/a saw Swift's shocked expression when he wrote his buddy, Jimbo earler today."...

Yes some of us do have friends, other than the mule of course. <G>

RE:" The thing that gets me is this: I WAS THE FIRST AGAIN ON THIS THREAD informing all who would listen way early 18 months ago that the IRS was only LETTING OUT FOR CONTRACT LAST OCTOBER the ASSESSMENT phase of their Y2K assignment.

Furthermore, I ALSO INFORMED THIS THREAD that when the previous IRS guy was canned and Rossitti took office, that several other Y2K impactful changes also occurred"...

I have to admit, you are the only person in the universe that has thought about the effect of Y2K on the government, economy or the POG... <GGG> And surely the only one in the Galaxy who didn't think the IRS or SS would be ready.
So Rose, what effect will Y2K have on the POG?..sure doesn't seem like much right now...I also take it you're a POG bull, not bullish on gold stocks? What makes you so cocksure (no pun intended) that the gold will be the place of safe haven?

Jim

ole 49r, you forgot to mention that I have also caught on! Aw shucks, never mind!

I attended a Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) seminar on investments about a few hours ago. At the seminar I was stunned and shocked to hear the investment gurus exhort the audience not to lose sleep over the ramifications of Y2K. They urged investors to stay invested and not to cash out because of their fear of the Y2K bugaboo which might well turn out to be a mere phantasm! Can you believe that? Ain't that incredible!!!

Rose:

FYI, I've been following Y2K events since early '98 and have been preparing since then. I just don't broadcast it all over the net like some people. You haven't posted anything I haven't already seen. What was unique about the info I posted was that it was the final Government symposium on Y2K and the admissions are there if anyone cares to look for them; very unusual for Government agencies, given the potential for mass panic.

I don't intend to move to the mountains, but I'll be ready. I only post this because I know you'll sleep better knowing I'm prepared. <vbg>

Ah yes, what would we do without your posts to laugh at or just shake our heads in wonderment at how one psyche can contain such an ego. I know it's difficult to keep it in check, but keep trying.
