Re Zing--fwiw, the pictures as far as I could tell were jpeg, which is lossy. (Of course, I couldn't view the full sized ones, because the java module broke on my opening the site. But, that's another issue). Two points:

1. They'll need a lot more bandwidth to upload fully detailed pictures that would be downloadable with decent resolution, and

2. Is this somehow supposed to replace memory in the camera? I can just see people wandering around with these long cables back to their internet connections. <g> Or, another image in my head, is the big antenna hanging out the side of the camera so the picture can be uploaded by QCOM's HDR CDMA. Oops, but what happens if you aren't in cellular range? Globalstar (two-way satellite) to the rescue!

Non-volatile memory has a continuing role to play, regardless of the internet or whatever.
