Doug, Dave, Arnold, thanks for the feedback on my comments on gold. I don't see how gold will ever make a strong comeback, simply on the basis that gold's strength comes from humans' distrust of each other, and right now that's at a low because of communication/travel. And I don't see the clock being turned backwards. There might be up and downs within a range of US$100 just on supply/demand, but to think of it jumping overnight to US$1000?! That would only happen if nuclear war or some other global disaster were threatened that made people fear for the dollar/euro's value. And I don't see anything on the horizon, or even a possibility of such.
