You and Voltaire are two of the most respected short term forecasters on the thread, Greg, but you seem to be having different visions. Ordinarily I wouldn't care, since I have my own vision for the longer term, and think I see Q at >1000 by this time next year. But due to greed, I have acquired a significant position January calls, so the run up to the split is of great interest. I'm sure many other normally LT investors are in the same position.

It would be very useful if you could expand on your prediction of a downtrend for Q. Do you see this as a lengthy process, as occurred in September, or a series of interday dips? And what is your estimate for Q's price at the end of this month, and at the end of the year?

tia,
uf

Greg,
What a gift that would be for those who got off the train too soon. Gotta think the options MM's need to take this down a bit -- they may have sold too many unhedged calls over the past 2 weeks. JMHO.

Gregg, I love you but I am absolutely stunned by your post and I am concerned about all those who have P.M. me tonight and I answered.

I will bet you $1,000 in the face of this thread that this stock will hit $400 in the next ten days. Uncle frank can hold the money, this is not a joke, that is how much I believe it. You will not have to pay anything, I am making the bet against my prediction. I would dearly love to see this stock go down to where you talk about but it AIN'T.

I cannot believe people have lost sight of what this 4 to 1 split means. People are treating this stock as if it is that damn AMZN for Christ sakes.

Anyway, I HAVE A BET WITH MYSELF. $1,000.

Mark it down folks. Now everybody go to bed and realize what happened today. Now go to bed and we will talk more about this in the morning.

FWIW,

As I read the chart, QCOM would actually have to go under $218 to break support. This has been a parabolic rise with many gaps along the way. We have not stayed anywhere long enough to call it a support level.

What I think we are really seeing is a pull back to the 5-10 DMA where QCOM normally trades. We were way up and out of the channel.

IMHO

I think the handset sale news and wireless HDR internet news and the 4/1 split will propel it past 150$ per share on a post split basis. imho

Greg,

Todays performance:

Today Last 10 Days
----- ------------
INTC -2.79% -2.54%
CSCO -0.75% -13.63%
MSFT -2.45% -5.81%
QCOM -2.65% +63.41%

Is this what you call losing momentum?
