"OT"-more option discussion-

Chuzzlewit,

Your approach to put writing is how I started out. It's the experience I've had with seeing stocks on which I've written drop sharply in price (eg. Motorola year ago) to a much lower price than the strike, which has caused me to consider the closing of positions at a profit. Certain companies on which I have been assigned stock as a result of leaving the position open into expiry or even prior have not recovered as quickly as I hoped resulting in quite a long time to see break even or better. I certainly have made some mistakes about certain companies and even worse mistakes on timing.

I think that taking implied volatilities vs historical into account will help me to improve my choices. Thank-you. FF
