Personally, I think that the list was established to document the 100 "original" longs as reported by these people themselves. The list was open for almost an entire week, and really filled up quite slowly (up to today). Everyone had plenty of opportunity to get on it. Expanding the list and setting a new deadline would just create this same thing somewhere else down the road. The list has been announced "closed", and probably should stay that way. Your post on this thread shows you were here in the early days...your messages will be here as long as GNETs servers are active, so I guess you should be content that it is documented in that way. Don't worry...in 2025, when historians are seeing where the "accidental gazillionairs" all came from, they'll see your message. :*) -Joe

Ok - Let me start this post with... I am a woman and my prerogative is to change my mind. <VBG> I truly did not realize that the Charter Long List would become so popular. I would not want anyone to think that we are a snobbish bunch and will not allow everyone to be a part of this newly formed group, brought together by the public offering of Charter Communications and Paul Allen's vision of a Wired World. I have spent the entire day thinking about the list and feeling badly that there are many that were unable to get in. I have decided, and I hope everyone will support the decision, to etch the original list in stone as the CHARTER MEMBERS OF THE CHARTER LONGS and begin a second list called THE NEXT GENERATION OF CHARTER LONGS.
