The guy on the phone asked me for my reason for cancellation, and I said: "Well, sky dayton, the ceo of earthlink, has publicly admitted he is a scientologist. Scientology has been declared a criminal organization in Germany, Greece, and Great Britain. Since I refuse to conduct business with organized crime, I must cancel my account with your company."

How would you like to represent us up in SV? No Amzn shareholders, or scientoligist's may apply. Sure HJ, I think you have a great company concept there. However I have been an amazon investor! Not now though. I am an amazon shopper - got another $10. gift certificate today. No way am I a scientologist! BTW Gurley in that WSJ piece isn't the best, imo. He was trying to recruit people to go to Seattle last year in an Ariba clone they had up there... he said they had just recruited a "hot CEO" - from egghead.com!! That online purchasing space is really close to manufacturing ERP which is completely centered down here, so recruiting people would have been really tough and it takes years to learn, plus egghead is retail! Come on, that company had no chance! I looked on humwin's home page and it isn't there anymore. They got employease though, which will probably make it. Thats what these VCs do, they take the losers off their page so it looks like they only have winners....
