Gemstar's lack of a website.....

henry answered a related ? by saying the proposed websites did not meet gmst's high standards yet. it is an on-going project and he expects a site to be up in the near future.

Gemstar's website is underconstruction, and states that it was last updated in 1996. Gemstar doesn't have a functioning, useful website here in the era of the "Internet Economy". I would offer the devil's advocate view that that is a disappointing indictment of management.

The prevailing view here and on the Gemstar threads has been that Henry Yuen is skillful and adroit as a CEO. I hope this is true, and to date, would not disagree.......BUT, Gemstar is in the communications/entertainment business. To not have a slick website by Nov. '99 is amazing. Especially given that so many investors and investment purchases is done on-line these days.

Yes, yes, I know they have had bigger fish to fry, and so on, but C'mon, no website???????
