Mike: I agree completely that knowing a lot about a little is the way to go - a focus on a narrow area or technology. As you know, that is exactly what I do with regard to wireless and fiberoptics. I am just struggling along with others on how to do something similar here.

What I thought I was suggesting was just that - breaking down e commerce into manageable chunks for concentrated learning, analysis and investment. Dealing with specific sectors or chunks or areas or whatever rather than only individual companies one at a time in isolation.

But my practical problem is that I do not know enough about e commerce to even suggest how to go about that in specific terms

So, I have limited my own participation and investment so far to the nurturers such as SFE and ICGE.

But I still hope there is a way to discuss individual e commerce companies in context. Just don't know yet how to divide e commerce up into manageable pieces to make that possible.

Respect and best. Chaz

Mike: Thanks again for the insight. And thanks to one and all on this thread. I'll check back in when I find something of substance.
