I don't mind being called reactionary, I like it. I just thought it was humorous to juxtapose that with Gustave's comment about nihilism.

I agree, grunge is the perfect denouement to this mad century.

By the way, did you ever catch a David Bowie concert when he was in his Ziggy Stardust period? I saw him once, it was quite a show. Very elaborate stage settings. The crowd was a spectacle as well.
