taxman: The worst outcome is almost discounted into the stock. The current discount probably includes protracted legal maneuvering with no clear cut settlement until after the possible change in admin. A settlement that was short of the preposterous DOJ and 19 states fondest hopes would remove the cloud and result in a mad scramble for the stock. probably a 200,000,000 share day. In the meanwhile the economic steam engine of MSFT keeps building the earnings and sales pressure. It will take more than a break up to rob MSFT of its brains. Unfortunately such an event will probably raise the cost of doing business for MSFT and therefore result in higher prices for the consumer. But hey who cares about the consumer - not Judge Jackson or DOJ. They just want to protect the competition. JFD
