One thing puzzles me a bit about this announcement. If "digital phones using Mitsubishi's HBT power amplifiers are already in the market," Kopin must have already been shipping fair volumes for a while, if they are the sole supplier of wafers. I doubt if Mitsubishi would launch the product before they had adequate inventory on hand, and the same goes for the handset manufacturers that buy from them. But perhaps the two companies had not previously formalized the delivery schedule at a definite rate. It seems that Kopin always keeps an item or two under wraps for release at their discretion. WT
