You make a really important point... Man's views of what is Truth is constantly changing. It reminds me of a securities industry text that I was looking at in which a pyramid was used to illustrate "proper" portfolio asset allocation. The bottom represented "security" and included "home", "will", "insurance" etc. It then worked up the pyramid from conservative to speculative investments. At the very top of the pyramid were "derivatives" and you guessed it "PMs". The view of gold/silver as insurance is at a cyclical bottom and this will change. In 10 years, textbooks will be back to telling everybody to have 5% of their assets in gold.
