On this new model emerging for software, here is a related post from the peoplesoft thread from last night... www2.techstocks.com A few months ago we were trying to figure out what was wrong with psft and it appears that the internet has enabled companies like employease to offer a totally outsourced solution - what with hiring issues and the hassle of client/server software customers want to avoid buying and maintaining complex software in-house, this company employease is exploiting that and psft is struggling it seems. Some areas like manufacturing this can't be done but icge has a few in there... like Servicesoft is one, where they have a new automation product, if they can offer it as a transaction-based product it will open up new middle markets for automation that were never there before (when app software cost $2mm+)... just trying to make the bullish case for icge here. The WSJ article was yesterday if anybody wants to access the entire piece.
