Black Hawk gold seized by town
(Full text of press release from BCE Emergis E-News)

Toronto, Canada, Dec 7 - Black Hawk Mining Inc. Announces Gold Shipment From Keystone Gold Mine Illegally Seized By Town Of Lynn Lake BLACK HAWK MINING INC. (TSE-BHK) announces that on December 6, 1999 the Town of Lynn Lake seized approximately 2,400 ounces of gold produced at the Keystone Gold Mine in northern Manitoba. The precipitous, unilateral seizure by the Town is viewed by Black Hawk an affront to due legal process under the laws of the province. The Town seized the gold as a result of claims they are making over municipal taxes. Black Hawk has been paying fees and operating under a long-standing Townsite Agreement with the Province of Manitoba and is of the view that it is not subject to further taxes. To date, Black Hawk has made all tax payments under the original agreement. The issue is currently before the Manitoba courts under due process and has been since April 1998. The Company's legal counsel has indicated that the court will be immediately requested to set aside the seizure on the grounds that it is unlawful and contradicts the process that is presently underway. The gold production from Lynn Lake is committed for sale to Standard Bank London under the terms of a long-term sales contract. Black Hawk has requested that the seized gold be returned immediately and that a definitive timetable be set for a conclusion of the proceedings respecting the Townsite Agreement. Black Hawk Mining Inc. is a Toronto-based natural resource company engaged in mining, exploration and development of mineral resource properties in North, Central and South America.
