I, too, have noticed that thomsoninvest shows buying interest on down days, and selling interest on up days. That is the usual signal on this indicator, and can be ignored, except that the price indications can sometimes be significant.

A better thing that they provide is a sense of how the institutions collect up shares. Unlike us, they can't just hit the ask to buy shares or the reverse. Instead, they have to let market action take the stock to them.

The more important indicator on thomson is when you see buying interest on an up day, or selling interest on a down day. I have found those signals to be of some significance.
