Looking around on the CDT link there is an APL they published of interest: cdtltd.co.uk

They are getting ~2 lm/W which isn't impressive but their lifetimes are >1100 hrs at 80C which is heartening.

It looks like there is a processing step at 150C in there so I'd have to stick it in my oven to make this work at home <g>.

Another reason why I prefer AXTI over CREE
[other than price] is a theory that
the best tech stocks all begin with an A

ATMI ASTX AXTI ANAD ASYT AMAT AAPL etc

It does not work both ways, however, in that
not all the As ---what may be a necessary but
not sufficient condition!

It may be part of a general theory of markets that
at different parts of the cycle the preference wilL
shift to the B's and so on
Now all we have to do is figure out how and when to shift!

Any suggestions?
