Mani,

<Take a look at BesBuy adds,

bestbuy.com

2 K6-2 AMD mobile
0 Intel mobile
1 Desktop Celeron
1 Desktop K6-2
2 Desktop PIII
4 Desktop Athlon

One of the mobile is the new Fujitsu 450 MHz chip. Looks like AMD is continuing to do well in retail.>

Nice to see good retail position going in to Christmas.

If one looks at the recent retail data, there are only three players of consequence - Compaq, HP and E-Machines with E-Machines being strictly limited to low-end.

Once HP comes into the fold, AMD can dominate the retail desktop like it was doing earlier this year. The laptop scene will probably stay great until CuMines ship in volume. Then it will be interesting to see if K6 can hold its own against CuMine (I have my doubts unless AMD did some magic with K6-2+)
