I agree. I understand the reasons for it, too. Being anonymous, at least in the beginning, is part of the freedom. By the time your friends know your real name, where you live, you trust them. And the mutual affection and trust is based on real things. Minds, I mean. Being the "realest" of things.

I meant it when I said I think 3D friends are jealous. They call and ask with barely masked resentment, "Am I taking you away from your computer friends?

The is a positive desire, I have perceived, on the part of some people, to disbelieve what you tell them and substitute for that a model of neurosis.

Let 'em.

I HATE to do this (and I apologize to E for the "gotcha") ... but perform an orthographic orthopedic operation. "Epistolary", meaning "by letter". The 'Net allows us to have this marvelous conference pen pal experience - more weight to it than phone chat (albeit less connection through the sidebands of tone and inflection; just look at the typed-character devices we improvise to designate levels of mirth), up to and including the writing of full-fledged letters, essays, structured mini-novellas on a dazzling array of topics.
And for a Deranged Punman like mememeee, this place is simply hog heaven.

Hey Paul,

I'm serious here. Do you find a big change in routine unsettling? I do. Set in my ways. Tomorrow I want to get this and this done while handling a few things that pop up.

Now it's the dogs wanting out and in and out, cats the same. Phone calls all day. Horses, well you know how cats are, picture one at 1,200 pounds... no 3 of them. And people at the door. Son of a bitch, don't ring the bell.. walk in so the damn dogs don't bark.

Yes she's in the hospital. No I have no idea why it's taking so long. What does she think about.... fulkin' ask her, I got no idea here.

I get sent out to rent a bed, walker..... Social worker " did you get the model such and such?" I got what they had. Jeez, I did my best, let me the hell alone.

I will have a real peaceful evening, drinking whiskey and loading stripper clips for my '06 Garand with full metal jackets. Tomorrow will be very quiet when she comes home. I'll pick up all the beds and stuff and have her room ready. I'll also help the vet with the horse tests, though probably not at the same time.

What the hell.?!
