This topic of gene tinkering and the next wave of speciation is one of my favorite topics of speculation. I really do believe that in a thousand years human society ... and humans ... will be barely recognizable. As Ben has observed, it isn't fair. But it will be captivating in terms of attention and wonder. It is my hope that it will be liberating in a more physical and psychological sense.

I would elaborate, but I need my nap. :-)
