oh yes, but only long enough to hit for the cycle. <vbg>

well, welcome aboard, ray (so to speak). i never pegged NTAP as worthy of a Gilder citation, but i suppose it fits his model of the dumbing down of the PC. e.g., the most common analogy used to describe the filer's success is the router; another appliance evolving in a major product category. while you won't catch me running out and buying Cobalt, many predict all sorts of parts of the general-purpose computer getting siphoned off by application-specific devices (e.g., email, web hosting, firewall, calendaring[!]) with caching perhaps garnering the most attention.

(but i'd keep in mind that while caching is the fastest growing segment of NTAP's business, currently it represents less than 10% of revenue.)

(N)tapped by the hand of Gilder, eh? i suppose we should expect an influx of Georgies to deluge the board ...

shall i turn on The Jetson's?

in any case, please follow along and do tell us what you think.

for the record, DownSouth (DS) is driving this mothership; i'm just along for the ride.
