Agree with all your points.

My only comment would be that people will want flexibility. With my scanner, sometimes I just want a quick copy of something, sometimes I want to take more time with it. My scanner setup gives me flexibility to do that. When initiated, it defaults to auto-correct, and one click (two actually) and I've got a .tiff image. (I still have to play around to convert it to .jpg most of the time).

Similarly for photos, most of the pictures we take are snapshots. We might take a "roll" or two and offer them around the room to look at when the inlaws are over. There may be a couple times a year I want to take more care, e.g., for the Christmas Card photo.
