MUMBAI, NOV 16: A joint operation by the Indian Navy and Coast Guard ended on Tuesday morning with the interception of a hijacked merchant vessel 450 km off the coast of Goa by a naval missile corvette after a high speed chase on the seas.

The 8900-tonne vessel, Alondra Rainbow, was carrying a
cargo of 7000 tonnes of aluminium ingots from Kuala Tanjung in Indonesia to Milke in Japan when she lost radio contact on October 22 after being hijacked by a 10-member gang of Indonesian pirates and diverted into the Arabian Sea
