DSS is short for "Digital Storage Systems". last June, QNTM divided its stock into two parts, one to track the hard drive business (the symbol is HDD), and the other tracks the tape drive, automated library, and storage subsystem businesses (symbol is DSS). There are separate threads which discuss HDD and DSS. If you search under their symbols, you will find them. They are also discussed on this thread as well as occasionally on some of the other drive threads, MXTR, SEG, WDC, HTCH, RDRT and HMT, and the Fibre Channel thread.
