Mary Cluney. Re: "That is pretty clear what you just stated." As I recall that's pretty much a direct quote, either from the conference call or another interview with Barrett, I can't remember.

Re: "There is a failure to communicate." You could be right. But in my experience, I cannot think of another world class company that gets such knee jerk bad treatment from analysts. You never hear of an analyst take on a GE or and MSFT. Do you think if one of GE's competitors had a conference call, the analysts would rush out and downgrade GE? I doubt it.

Even KO for all its troubles (some self-induced) it has been a controlled descent. But the slightest mess-up and the analysts are all over Intel, with downgrades and badmouthing. I've been an Intel investor since '92, and the piling on still amazes me.

I'm sure there are reasons, but for all its accomplishments, Intel seems to get much less respect IMHO. I'm not sure how much can be laid at the feet of the company or how much they can influence it.
