I sometimes wonder who has been reading our thread here.....

Nah - can't be.

Oh by the way, if this stock hits $80 - I won't know what to do so I'll just hope it makes it back to $30 again. I'll worry about higher numbers after that.

This is definitely a GREAT step by Novell. The pricing is just about right - $2 per user for value-added services that only ones imagination can hold. Good start for eDirectory.

I also like the "free" give away/test of NDS. There's no compelling reason NOT to give it a try. If you want reasons WHY they should try it - do you have an hour?

Also, just a quick note - Mr. Gates took some time to fly to NY and talk with Chase Manhattan Bank. Chase is a HUGE Novell shop - they manage over 10,000 desktops with ZENworks alone! Well, Mr. Gates was unable to shake Chase from their commitment to NDS. Good news!

Good article in Sm@rtReseller by MaryJoe Foley regarding this meeting. Seems that since he could not get the bank to change their minds he made them ante up for new CALs (client access licenses).

Very interesting how the bank responded - they tossed ole Bill $30 million for desktop licenses to bring them into total compliance but NDS still lives at the bank.
