After the FOMC meeting is now history, all eyes will be on the Terra IPO tomorrow: (Nasdaq: TRRA).

TRRA is in AOL's niche and the IPO is considerably oversubscribed. Indications are that it'll price over $20/share, but it is a fools game to chase IPO's on the first day.

TRRA is the "AOL" of the Spanish-speaking countries of the world as it is the largest ISP in Spain, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, etc. AOL wants to get into Latin business as quickly as it can. Note the AOL Brazil announcement today.

QuePasa.com (literally "What's happening" in Spanish) is the YAHOO of the Spanish/Latin American world (Nasdaq: PASA). Both AOL and TRRA may have strategic reasons to buy out PASA as they vie for market share. PASA just rolled out their "Navidad.com" Christmas e-commerce site yesterday. This evening, Gloria Estafan -- who has signed a contract to sponsor www.quepasa.com --was at quepasa.com for a live chat.

IDC Corp studies project internet use in Latin American countries to grow substantially by year 2001 to over 30 million accounts, so the Hispanic ISP accounts and buying power are something to reckon with.
