Hello C.Zuck.......Well I sold off 25% when it reached 70...that left my acquisition cost at -0- but I had to be lucky to find a place to put it that was equal. I'm not doing that again.....I'm leaving it alone.....hope I never need it and my grandkids can say.....wasnt the old geezer a smart one.

Best Wishes ........Jim

PS The one thing that I have done right as an investor was to make Sun my major holding. To this day I am the only one in my circle of friends that own Sun......they are all heavy into MSFT/INTC/DELL/CISCO which is probably typical for the average Seattleite. It's because of Sun that I began trading on my own.
I went to my broker and said I want to buy some Sun and this is almost word for word what I was told

"We dont' like Sun.... we think MSFT will hurt them"

..and how did I discover Sun......this forum.....including ADDI.

Don't intend to sell any more
period

I feel your "pain." <g> But every time I've sold shares of SUNW, I've lived to regret it. It is a bit rich. But the potential is, IMHO of course, tremendous.

As usual, all JMHO and not investment advice.

Maybe, you should ask a different question. Can you find another company that makes you feel as comfortable as SUNW? You have to define comfortable. Each person on this thread would define it in a slightly different way.

Good Luck,

Mephisto

Dear C: I understand your dilemna and your reasoning is sound. I will only point out something about myself. I tend to be a VERY long term stock holder. (My record is about 23 years with one company and probably would still be holding it but it was bought out). In that time I made well over 10,000 percent gain. I mention this so you will know where I am coming from. OK, that said, here is my thoughts. To hold a stock extremely long requires that the company and its management continually show a VISIONARY look to the future and over time remake itself over and over to the changing times. There are damn few companies that meet that challenge. If you have one, it usually pays off to hang on to it. IMHO SUNW and Scott M. meet that criteria. You will have to decide if you agree. If you do, I would not let arbitrary %ages have the importance to cause you to throw it out. JDN
