Gottfried, Tito, Lester E, Brian, Big Bucks, John and Threaders. Check the great DW bull percentage data that we have been seeing since the sector lows of 10/19/99. The good news is AMAT and SEMI's are doing great. The bad news is the SEMI sector is in the oversold area (above 70 percentile). However, the recent bull percentage high for the Semiconductor sector was 86% according to the DW data chart. I have indicated the meaning of the symbols (10week, hilo,bpnyse, bpotc, bpaero, etc) for those of you who are new to the site. Hope it helps in our investing. It sure has help me in timing my buys and sells along with what sectors to buy in. Individuals can can go to dorseywright.com (for a 2 week free trial) to log on to the Dorsey Wright site and retrieve the charts which I have listed by keying in the symbols, ie. 10week, hilo, bpopti, bpsemi, bpnyse, bpotc, bpcomp, etc. Then all you is update them weekly as I post the data. DW recently posted that, historically, the best time for stocks was from the lows in the middle of October thru May. This is something worth noting since Abby Cohen just indicated that she expects the S & P 500 to hit approximately 1450 by the Summer of 2000. IMO, with China and the US getting an aggreement AMAT and the SEMI's, CSCO, LU should be great. Whatever the Y2K event or non/event will have no one knows. But according to the current charts it looks more as a non event rather than an event. However, there are others on this site who have a better knowledge on this matter than I do. Naturally, the above is only my opinions and the data which I have reviewed from the Dorsey Wright site, IBD and SEMI sites.
