Elmer - Re: "This is a tough time for these guys and they need some time to digest all this. They'll need a couple a days to make up some new excuses...."

Perhaps.

Maybe an AThWIPE design win from Lugurski Computers will brighten up their outlook.

Re: The Athlon was supposed to destroy Intel's P6 generation...

Even Sander's was only going for a 30% market share - but he, and the rest of the AMD longs, want to make some money.

Processors from Intel's .18 process, on second and third generation chipsets, achieve rough parity with chips built on AMD's .25 process running on a 1.0 chipset.

And given the current availability situation, it doesn't look like Intel was really ahead of AMD in getting out .18 parts, either.

You can buy a 700MHZ Athlon and get it today - when Intel manages to ship more than samples of the Coppermine, we'll see what AMD is shipping to compete with it.

Re: "The AMDroids never predicted this could happen.
AMD was supposed to have been INFALLIBLE !"

Go easy on em Paul, they are in deep shock.

You two are so pathetic! Do you realize how silly you look? There's nothing like turning my computer on in the morning to find that the two of you have been writing little "love notes" to each other at 1:46 in the morning!

Right....no, we're all asleep (at least in the east). I've been following this thread for several years now, and for a long time didn't post because you weenie Intellabees are so damn boring. Occasionally you might post something reasonable in opposition that adds to the debate..but simply repeating the same stupid thing over and over again (in the space of a few hours) is really lame.

Here's a clue. You made your point. The Spec scores are higher! No 2 proc. demo yet. Congrats.
