US DVD Player sales running over 600K per month........... dvdinsider.com Vital Statistics - 11/16/99 According to statistics from CEA (formerly CEMA) for the month of October, DVD players unit sales to dealers were 603,048, a 269.8 percent increase from 1998. Projection television sales were also up to 138,068 for the month of October, a 20.6 percent increase from 1998. Year-to-date, DVD player sales are just under 3 million at 2,976,406, a 314.1 percent increase over last year and projection television sales are just shy of one million at 948,950, a 13.2 percent increase. DVD title sales are smashing baby, yeah! For the week ending Nov. 7, 1999, VideoScan reported that 581,000 DVD titles were sold and 14,618,000 titles year-to-date.
