Well absolutely, if you can mentally conceive or picture an
event happening it is very likely to occur somewhere. Does a
broker properly and legally tell a buyer of a used home about the
defects. How about a used car salesman?
One thing that helps the public is that one crook may turn in the 'other' crook if things get out of hand. That occurs all the time in
newspaper ads or in junk mail to senior citizens.
The small stuff ( a few points) doesn't bother me much, but
when a stock moves up 10 or 20 points 2 weeks before a split
,or 2 hours before the announcement, then one has to think
'insider trading' or a news leak to the proper people.
