Jay..
Enabling and motivating (internet, et al,) service providers, unfortunately are, two different things. My domicile is in Bell Atlantic 'burbs. Far enough from the CO to be frustrating. My roof looks like a satellite farm.

The horizon of high speed delivery here only seems to be from the sky, not on the ground.

A recent client is developing a digital satellite feed of talk and CD quality music. An antenna about the size of a silver dollar on steroids.

My thought was, how 'bout ubiquitous satellite feed for video, voice and data hooked onto the virtual display/eyeglasses. A Bluetooth (RF) unit (for a fixed location) would be hooked to the Feed for local mobility. A direct feed, via the mini-dish, for the mobile need.

Those blessed with fiber/cable/HDSL could just have more of it.

Then the touchy/feelie conferences could be in a more congenial environment.

Real Estate types, however, would hate it.
