Neo,the blurb didn't say anything about the size of the lot. I have been to Torrance 3 or 4 times in the late 80s, and nothing I saw was overly large. Maybe one quarter acre, max. I didn't see all the sub-divisions so can not give expert testimony. Torrance is south west of downtown LA., not too far from the San Diego freeway.

Neocon, having lived a good part of my life in sourthern California, I can tell you that Torrance is west of L.A., pretty close to the ocean. But it's not a beach town with ocean front property. It's a city that has been built up for many years, so I don't imagine they have much acerage at all. Torrance is also close to an area where there are many sleazy "Poker Parlors" which bring in the crime element. In California, gambling is decided by city ordinances. Two factors that may affect the price of this house are, the high cost of real estate in Calif., and proximity to the ocean. But being near the poker parlors isn't a plus. These are the type of places you find on the back streets of Vegas with soup lines near by.
