There's nothing to tie the ice loss to any man-made or natural global warming.

I don't know enough about global warming to understand, but what are they saying-- that there is no concrete provable cause and effect between us and the warming, or that there's no reason at all to think that there is??

I think they can compare listening data and deduce the course history of specific subs. Yah, the sounds are probably unique, but it's the "records" they correlate.

Listening posts, mobile and fixed, are the most dangerous and hot Cold War worldwide armed forces encounters. The real, live, edges of war.

I think private citizens, well duh, are unaware of how crucial they are, and how much has been risked and sacrificed, to light and supply and position them.

There's little doubt, that the Korean Air "007" passenger jet the Soviets downed was on a military objective. We crossed the line with it, a virtual act of war, dared the Soviets, and the Soviets let them know, once again, that they aren't stupid. Without even lighting up the radar "we" wanted to see.

Notice "they got away with it?"

We weren't holding a single card. Got caught "Red-handed."

We can't go illuminating the Russian's sonar records for them.
