Look at the average size of the trade. If it is small that signifies retail trade. If it is large, above 1,000 per trade, then the institutions are at work.

Well, so far, average trade size is 906 (at least, that's what FreeRealTime says). Looks like it borders on institutional buying. I do question that number, though, as market-makers can split a large order into smaller blocks, if necessary. I know, I placed a limit order for 2000 shares one time and got it in 3 blocks, each under a thousand shares. On my trade confirmation slip, they were listed as 3 separate trades. That would lend me to believe that the number at FreeRealTime is a little bit lower than the "real" average.
