RESEARCH ALERT-Applied Materials target raised
NEW YORK, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers said on Wednesday it raised its one-year price target on Applied Materials Inc. (NasdaqNM:AMAT - news) to $125 from $100.

-- ''Several semiconductor equipment companies have posted improved orders, as chip manufacturers have ramped up capacity. We think Applied has participated in this order trend as well, and think fourth quarter orders were 1.55 billion or more.''

-- Applied Materials was up 5 at 110-1/2 in Wednesday morning trading on the Nasdaq stock market.
