Jim

Its hard for the intc longs....here is AMD, its stock price competitive with intc for the first time in a long time; trending up while intc is trending down.

Then they have the cumine finally and it is competitive with the Athlon to some degree but definitely not in the same class....but can you find a 733 cumine? Nope!! So really the cumine is competitive only in theory!!

Then there is everything else that intc is screwing up: chip production, chipsets, itanic, probably networking, who knows what else.....the place is so big. Everyone is so busy trying to correct the mistakes and to flood the channels with something, anything, so that it looks like Xmas that even PB has to work 24/7, and can't take advantage of his renewed SI subscription.

So you can probably understand, the intc longs are a little testy right now. Not that I give a sh*t but at least it explains why their tempers are shorter than normal.

BTW did you know that when C. Barrett said cumine had to be ready by the holidays....a lot of the intc workers thought he meant Easter. In any case that's the rumor going around to explain why the channels did not get flooded with 733 cumine chips in November.

Jim - Re: "Can you cut of the Moron past price movement posts?"

You sure are a little cranky today. Here with your name calling and elsewhere in extolling the virtues of Florida over Mexico.

Did you do poorly in the Geezer Invitational shuffle board tournament or is it raining in Florida?

Jim,

These guys (Intel) are really "Scrambling"!

Intel struggling to meet PC chip demand - WSJ biz.yahoo.com

NEW YORK, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Chip maker Intel Corp. (NasdaqNM:INTC - news) said it was struggling to meet demand for its Pentium III microprocessors and is unable to meet orders from its personal computer manufacturing customers, the Wall Street Journal reported in Wednesday's edition.

Intel executives weren't immediately available for comment.

"We're tight supplies across our product line, including the new Pentium III's, the Pentium III's that have been out for some time, mobile product lines and even Pentium II's." the newspaper quoted an Intel spokesman as saying.

He added that Intel was not experiencing any technical difficulties and said the recent earthquake in Taiwan "was not a factor in its shipments for microprocessors."

The company is meeting commitments for specific new products, but is not able to take additional orders from new or existing customers, the Journal reported.

I didn't post this for WSJ stuff (it's kind of old news for this thread). I posted this to point out to the Intel spokes person comments in the article- He added that Intel was not experiencing any technical difficulties and said the recent earthquake in Taiwan "was not a factor in its shipments for microprocessors." Very interesting. Is the Intel spokesperson trying to cast off above excuses made by Intel Executives yesterday? I think they realized there were some discrepancies between what they told in their CC (as Chuck pointed out in one of his posts about the Taiwan earth quake) and the excuses Intel Execs came up with yesterday :O)
