random musings on a pretty fair day

cdis hasn't yet traded today, an odd thing given today's activity, even for a lightly traded service stock.

CRK is building nice volume and has a pretty darn bullish looking chart. looks like time to load the ng stocks IMO. ng prices won't linger at these levels for long and neither will the ng leveraged producers. CHK appears to be holding at 3 and TMR has not broken 4. barring further blood in the ng pits, it looks like its time to pick these issues up off the floor.

one options related question for those of you who are active options traders. yesterday afternoon and again this morning i had a limit sell on nov contracts that passed throug the ask on the underlying stock and did not execute. in other words, the most recent sale for the shares was at times up to 1/4 above the corresponding in the money ask on the contract. the specialist's ask remained 1/4 + below the market bid for the stock on an in the money corresponding basis. i was lucky to bump up my ask twice and as a result got a better price than i really deserved IMO. not that I'm complaining, just find it odd and wonder whether its at all common.

++ good

I don't believe it. TMR's hedge collar is finally having an effect. They have 60% in a collar with a ceiling of $24. Who would have thought a few months ago that it might go into effect? Still, they are far better off than most EnP's and their hedges, and were protected from OPEC cheating.

Did you check out OII today. Up 2 bucks. When OII moves, it's a pocket rocket. People must have really liked that Aussie news.

She gapped up on heavy order imbalances and is now trading up over the 50/200 dma combo which will turn up with this move. I had almost forgotten about OII until you mentioned it a few week back. Thanks. This one I'm going to try to hold for a while. If investors liked the Aussie numbers wait till they get a load of the numbers that come out of Brazil, WA, and the GOM as the big new fields are developed.

Looks as though I'll get called out of my GLBL. Maybe I buy Tweety on a PB, Maybe PDE, Maybe MRL - leaning towards deep water FLC. Decisions Decisions.
