Tero, can you shed any light on Cellpoint's competitive position versus Ericsson and Nokia? I have a hard time imagining that they could compete effectively them given their worldwide distribution and customer relationships. I'm interested to learn what I can of Cellpoint, though, as a possible investment. The news release, which I'll tack on at the end of this message, of management's discussion at their annual meeting sounds promising. And just where are they located? You say that they're Swedish, the location heading in their press release says Stockholm, but in the penultimate paragraph of the release, they refer to themselves as a "US company". Their investment bankers are American (in Chicago) as well. This discrepancy of where their operations are and where they are incorporated gives me pause.

Company Announces Several New Contracts Pending Presentation to Leading Stock Analysts Today
STOCKHOLM, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 1, 1999--At its Annual Meeting yesterday, CellPoint Inc. (NASD:CLPT)(www.cellpt.com) chairman Peter Henricsson stated that the company's goal is to become the world leader in position-location technology for GSM networks, and anticipates that the Company should reach cash flow positive during next year. He noted that in addition to contracts and deployments already announced, talks are under way with 25 GSM operators and several contract proposals are ``on the table.'

``It has been an extraordinary year,' said Henricsson, noting that CellPoint's value had increased to over two hundred million dollars; the stock price had increased from a 52-week low of below three dollars to the mid-twenty-dollar range and rising; the world's first commercial deployment is underway in Sweden; and a Nasdaq listing is in the offing. CellPoint's first-to-market technology gives it a distinct advantage over competitors whose systems are still in development, Henricsson said, and it will continue to have an advantage because it requires no costly network overlays and uses standard mobile phones and an Internet connection to deliver the web-based services.

CellPoint is making another presentation today in Sweden at an event for stock analysts arranged by Finanstidningen, Sweden's premier financial newspaper. The video of this presentation, which is to an audience of more than 100 stock market professionals, will be available on the Internet via CellPoint's website: www.cellpt.com.

More than 100 people attended the 3-hour meeting yesterday and the atmosphere was decidedly positive. In response to questions about the status of the Nasdaq listing, Henricsson stated that forms for SEC registration had been filed, that the Company has had a top priority to furnish the SEC with any additional information required and that CellPoint meets all the listing requirements for full National Market Nasdaq listing. ``When we receive final approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission,' he said, ``the Nasdaq application will follow in short order.'

Hadar Cars, President of CellPoint Systems, the Company's operating subsidiary, also described the world's first commercial deployment of GSM positioning services for standard cellular phones, now underway with Tele2Mobil in Sweden. ``CellPoint's technology is being offered by Tele2 as its 'Tele2Mobil Position`` service, allowing transport, security, service and sales organizations to be more efficient and to increase customer satisfaction by routing their vehicles and personnel more effectively,' said Cars. Tele2 is a division of NetCom AB (Nasdaq:NECS - news), a leading telecommunications company in Scandinavia.

As GSM operators worldwide begin incorporating the CellPoint technology, these services will become far more widespread and many new applications will be implemented. CellPoint's value-added mobile services provide strong differentiation for network operators and can be fully implemented within three months, further enhancing CellPoint's leadership position in delivering location-based services.

CellPoint Inc. is a US company whose CellPoint System(TM) technology uses the Internet and cellular networks to determine physical locations of cellular phones. The positioning technology is similar to satellite-based Global Positioning Systems (GPS) but with the additional capability of determining location inside buildings, parking garages and other shielded areas such as inside a pocket or briefcase that are inaccessible to GPS systems. CellPoint system is currently the world's only commercially operational digital cellular position-location technology; it is fully scalable, works with standard GSM phones and WAP phones in unmodified digital networks requiring no costly overlays, and can be coordinated worldwide from a remote central location. According to The Wall Street Journal, GSM is the world's leading standard in cellular phone technology with more than 50 percent of the world cellular market and more than 230 million subscribers worldwide. In addition to the Tele2 deployment, CellPoint recently announced a contract with France Telecom Mobiles, a division of France Telecom (NYSE:FTE - news; www.francetelecom.fr), one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, with operations in over 50 countries, and 24.6 billion euros in 1998 revenues.
