Briefing.com on Teapot ...

Teapot: Java Operating System

But if you really are interested in new operating systems, Teapot should be watched.

TeaPot is a South Korean company that has built a completely Java based operating system. The system runs on Intel Pentium and StrongARM chips, as well as Hyundai picoJava and Cirrus Logic EP7209 chips. MIPS support is in development.

Embedded applications, such as PDAs and cell phones are the target applications. But since it runs on Pentiums, it allows for cross-platform Java applications to be written.

This 12 person company sells the operating system on a site-license basis to hardware manufactures, and takes a very small royalty on each sale.

This brand-new system should be watched. It allows for interesting "small-footprint" web devices to be easily programmed.
