Re: "It really reflects bad on their[zdnet] technical skills, credibility and integrity, because they were the only one claiming this kind of nonsense. "

Not true Goutama. This site is reporting the same thing:

gamespot.com

4th page: (BTW you better not look at the benchmarks because the CuMine wins on just about every one of them and I know you guys don't like to hear that)

"I would have liked to run the AMD tests on a shipping off-the-shelf motherboard, but neither the FIC or Asus motherboards could complete all the benchmark tests."

Now you have 2 different sites reporting that no shipping 700MHz Athlon motherboard could complete all the tests. Looks like a real bug to me.

It's here! The Kryotech SuperG 1GHz Athlon system.

Check out the review on Tom's Hardware Guide:

www6.tomshardware.com

Improved cooling system can dissipate 150 watts vs. 65 watts for the previous 800 & 900 systems, and it allows Athlon upgrades. Why do you need this much power? One word: Rendering times! Just look at the 3D StudioMax benchmarks. $2450.

Elmer, re: <ZDNET - But the simple fact that we can't get a clean run of Winstone 99 on a shipping 700-MHz Athlon system (whose manufacturer shall remain nameless for the moment) is frustrating"

Not good news for AMD.>

Elmer, you really are scrambling. To me, it just shows the abilities of ZDNET technical staff. It really reflects bad on their technical skills, credibility and integrity, because they were the only one claiming this kind of nonsense.

Given that ZDNET are the developers of Winstone, wouldn't you think they'd have a clue about running it?
