Yes, there is still risk. Though if you check in the BKP 3Q release, it is mentioned that Cal Canal has had some 'significant gas shows.'

There's also little doubt that there is a discovery at East Lost Hills, though technical problems have kept them from flow testing up to now. The second well, Berkley #1, two miles north is setting casing currently and should drill into the temblor sands in the next week or so.

The KOB thread is pretty infomative if you listen to the likes of Salt'n'Peppa and Grayhairs.

First, as I'm up to my eyeballs in the ELH play, I suppose I have to second johnlag's recommendation.

Second, if your taste runs to larger companies with less risk, take a look at Canadian Occidental. They are a large (200k+ boe/d) domestic & international producer, low and falling debt, highly leveraged to oil prices. Production growth on the order of 20% this year. Worth the time to do some DD, IMHO.
