Well if that's the case then sorry, but it didn't say ZDNET on the gamespot link I followed so I guess I missed it.

No problem. Hey, have any of you seen this site? It monitors all of the television financial news in realtime.

Try this link for a search on "Intel":

Elmer, Gamespot must really be screwed up, here's what I found trying to verify their benchmark results.

On Q3TEST "fastest" at 512 x 384 resolution (!?) ZDNet Gamespot claimed to get 101 FPS on the 700 MHz Athlon with their "reference system" which included a TNT2 Ultra board.

Thresh's Firing Squad (certainly not AMD-biased) got 121.4 FPS at a higher resolution (640 x 480)

For Q3TEST "high quality" at 1024 x 768 x 32 resolution, ZDNet Gamespot claimed to get 30.8 FPS using the 700 MHz Athlon.

Thresh's Firing Squad got 40.2 FPS with either an Athlon 650 or 700, 31% higher than ZD.
Anand got 38.5 FPS even using an Athlon 500!!

For Expendable at 1024 x 768 x 32, ZDNet Gamespot claimed to get 33.29 (man, they were precise!) FPS on an Athlon 700.

Anand measured 45.4 FPS using an Athlon 500 and 45.5 FPS using an Athlon 700! Thresh measured 51.6 FPS using both the 650 and the 700.

Even CPUMark99 is wrong -- Thresh's measured 63 vs 61.7 by ZDNet.

Clearly, their test system was screwed up. I suspect they did not have a TNT2 Ultra at all, but a standard TNT2 and/or the AMD chipset driver was not loaded, disabling AGP.

Here's a URL from Thresh's report on the Athlon 700 where the benchmark results start:
